NURTURE - EXCEL - ACHIEVE
At Newton Leys Primary School and Nursery, we are extremely proud of the progress our children with additional needs make.
We value all achievements, no matter what they look like, including gaining new knowledge and understanding academically, developing social skills or just having the confidence to say good morning during the register.
We are dedicated to working together across the school and, where necessary, with outside agencies to ensure our children are happy and successful.
Parent/Carer involvement:
Miss Edmonds holds fortnightly coffee mornings for parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities to meet together at school.
The meetings run from 8:30am - 9:30am.
The purpose of the mornings is for parents and carers to meet together informally, to talk about experiences, establish new connections and share support.
It also gives Miss Edmonds the opportunity to regularly pass on information from the Milton Keynes SEND team regarding events and training opportunities for families.

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability)
Our SEND Co-ordinator is Miss Lora Edmonds.
Miss Edmonds ensures that, as a school, we are following the Code of Practice (2014) as well as ensuring all practice in school is in line with our Special Educational Needs Policy.
Our SEND Governor is Mrs Esther Thorpe.
